our story
started small, stayed small on purpose
We opened Roadrunner because we wanted one good spot on State Street to get a real cup before work. A few stools, a loud espresso machine, and a chalkboard that changes more often than it probably should.
Tiny on purpose. We would rather make 80 drinks we are proud of than 400 we are not. The name is for the bird that owns these streets at dawn, fast, a little ridiculous, completely at home in the heat. That is the energy we keep behind the counter.
the people
It is a few of us behind the counter. We are in by 5 baking the morning buns, we taste shots til they are right, and yeah, we will remember your order by Thursday.
what we will not cut corners on
We cook in butter, olive oil, and avocado oil. No seed oils, ever. We buy organic produce and dairy when it is around and worth it, and we will tell you when it is not. It costs us more. It tastes like it.
organic when available . always seed-oil-free
